Custom Drapery
Drapery is our specialty—and often the most impactful element in an interior.
At St. Hyacinth Custom Drapery, we fabricate custom drapery and window treatments for interior designers in Dallas–Fort Worth using traditional methods. Each panel is fully lined and interlined as a standard, creating the body and presence that define exceptional window treatments.
Our work reflects a couture-level approach to drapery fabrication, with an emphasis on traditional methods and hand-finished detail.
Whenever possible, we pleat to pattern, which is considered the most correct approach when working with prints and wovens.
The English Method
We fabricate our drapery using the traditional English method, a meticulous, largely hand-finished approach that supports both the structure and presence of each panel.
Corners are precisely mitered and closed by hand using a ladder stitch. Hems and internal side turnings are secured with hand-sewn herringbone stitching—a hidden detail that is not visible on the face, yet essential to how the drapery holds its shape and allows for construction with no visible stitching on the face of the hems or side turnings.
Each panel is fully lined and interlined as a standard, creating the weight required for a proper drape. Discreetly placed drapery weights are secured within the hem to ensure a clean, consistent fall.
A 100% cotton sateen lining is then laid over the interlining and hand blind stitched for a smooth, tailored finish throughout.
The result is drapery that is constructed in the most correct way, holding its shape and hanging as it should.
